Fidelity Bank customers are receiving October interest and withholding tax (WTax) SMS alerts, prompting questions about whether the messages are connected to the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP).
The screenshots show interest credits labelled “Int.Pd” and WTax debits for October 1 to 31, 2026. Amounts vary.
However, the alerts do not mention YEIDEP or grants. Neither Fidelity Bank nor YEIDEP has announced that these entries are programme-related. They should not be taken as proof that payments have started.
Some Keystone Bank customers linked to YEIDEP were asked to visit branches with identification to regularise accounts. That request did not confirm grant payments.
In April, YEIDEP disowned a false flyer claiming a ₦500,000 grant through Fidelity Bank.
What to do
Check your statement and contact Fidelity Bank through official channels. Applicants should rely on verified YEIDEP announcements. Do not pay anyone or share PINs, passwords or one-time passwords.
