June 2, 2025 – Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has approved a special Sallah bonus for all civil servants and pensioners in the state. This announcement comes just days before the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, a time when many families face extra financial pressure.
The Sallah bonus, according to the government, is aimed at helping citizens enjoy the Eid celebration with more ease and dignity. The move is expected to boost spending in the local economy and bring relief to households as they prepare for the festive period.
Speaking from the Holy Land of Makkah, where he is currently observing the Hajj pilgrimage, Governor Lawal extended his best wishes to the people of Zamfara. He said, “I am deeply grateful to Almighty Allah for granting us the opportunity to witness yet another Eid. As we celebrate, I urge us all to reflect on the essence of this season — unity, sacrifice, and compassion. Let us pray for our beloved Zamfara State and our nation, Nigeria. Together, we can build a better future for ourselves and generations to come.”
He also reminded citizens about the importance of peace during the holiday season, stating that, “peace and security are the bedrock of sustainable development.” The governor’s message reflects a strong focus on both economic relief and social stability—two major priorities under his administration.
The Ministry of Information and Culture, through the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, backed the Governor’s message and called on all Muslims and residents of Zamfara to celebrate responsibly. The commissioner said the bonus is a clear sign of the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of all Zamfara people, including pensioners and low-income families.
