September 9, 2025 – The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates for its ongoing recruitment exercise. The list of successful candidates is being directly sent to candidates via their registered email address.
The announcement came today, September 9, 2025, with successful applicants receiving email notifications about the next phase.
The email sent out reads:
“Dear [candidate], The Management of the Nigeria Customs Service is pleased to inform you of your selection to participate in the next phase of its ongoing recruitment exercise. You are therefore, advised to carefully go through the outlined instructions:
Candidate Number: [hidden]
Reference Number: NCS/2024/GD/08/0[hidden].”
Candidates should note that the reference number carries ‘2024’ because the recruitment started back in December 2024, but ended in January 2025.
According to the mail:
“a. Candidates will be required to take an online computer-based test (CBT) from any convenient place, provided there is availability of internet facility. Thus, candidates may choose to sit for the test at any internet-enabled computer center.
b. The test is not mobile phone enabled. Candidates are to use laptop computers or desktops that will offer webcam facility and enable full-screen display during the exercise.
c. Candidates will undertake a facial verification process during the log-in process and are therefore advised to de-emphasize clumsy facial looks that may undermine easy facial recognition by the application.
d. Candidates must be aware that the CBT application is sensitive to noise and body movements; and are therefore required to focus strictly on the computer throughout the duration of the test. The system will automatically log out those who engage in excessive body movement and are noisy. Endeavor to stay out of noisy environments as any form of background distraction and whispering may be detected by the system.
e. Candidates must ensure that they remain on one window space through the exercise, as switching from one window to another may be perceived by the system as malpractice.
f. Candidates are to note that there will be a pre-test two days before the actual CBT, to enable them familiarize themselves with the application before the actual test.
g. Candidates will be sent two links; one for the pre-test and the second for the actual CBT which will be on a different date.
h. Candidates who applied for enlistment into the Superintendent cadre (Level 8) will be invited to undertake another CBT at the next phase of the exercise. This will not include those who applied into the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres.
i. All candidates who are successful in the corresponding phases above will be invited for final screening at a later date.”
The shortlist email ends with a disclaimer that the recruitment process is entirely free and does not require any form of payment or gratification.
