IMO State Government through the Imo State Universal Education Board (IMSUBEB) has announced the publication of names of recruited teachers under the 2023/2024 teachers’ recruitment exercise. The announcement was made in a public notification released by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Block 3, Second Floor, Imo State Secretariat, Owerri.
According to the notification, the list contains the names of potential and prospective teachers who were interviewed in 2024. “They are due for training at the Benjamin Uwajumogu College of Education. They have not yet been employed; the process for employment has begun,” the statement read.
The government explained that candidates whose names appear on the list are expected to proceed for accreditation on days that will be announced later.
On the process for accreditation, the notification stressed that candidates must report according to schedules that will be communicated to them. They are also required to attend with their credentials, birth certificates, and government issued identifications such as Driver’s Licence, Voter’s ID, or international passport.
“All candidates whose names appear on the published list are expected to attend the accreditation program as scheduled and on dates to be announced,” the statement added. It emphasized that accreditation is mandatory for every selected candidate.
The training program will run for six weeks and will be organized in three cohorts. Each cohort will be grouped by senatorial zone and trained per week. All candidates will be housed in the hostel and trained during the period.
The full list of selected candidates can be accessed at the Local Government Education Secretary’s Office across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state, and also in the Statesman Newspaper from Monday, September 22, 2025, to Friday, September 26, 2025.
