My Akwa Ibom Diaspora Name Challenge 2025 has officially opened for entries, giving Akwa Ibom indigenes across the world a chance to celebrate their heritage through their traditional names. The initiative is powered by The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Diaspora Matters. It aligns with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Initiative for cultural preservation and reflects the Christmas season.
The Directorate on Diaspora Matters also announced this 2025 Christmas Giveaway for Akwaibomites home and abroad. The challenge titled “MY AKWA IBOM NAME CHALLENGE” invites participants to share the meaning, significance, and personal story behind their names.
Prizes include $200 for the winner, $100 for the first runner up, $75 for the second runner up, and gift cards for ten random winners. Prize money will be converted to the currency of the winner’s country.
Eligibility covers all Akwa Ibom indigenes in the diaspora.
To participate, entrants must like the post and follow @akwaibomdiaspora on Instagram and four or more platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Tik Tok, X, and YouTube through links facebook.com/Akwaibomdiaspora, instagram.com/akwaibomdiaspora, linkedin.com/company/akwaibomdiaspora, snapchat.com/@ak_ibomdiaspora, tiktok.com/@akwaibomdiaspora, x.com/Ak_lbomDiaspora, and youtube.com/@akwaibomdiaspora.com.
They must also post a Reel stating their name, meaning, who named them and why, and how it has blessed their life. Participants must tag @akwaibomdiaspora and at least ten friends, and use hashtags #MyAkwalbomName, #AkwalbomDiaspora, and #AkwalbomChristmas Giveaway.
The entry deadline is December 20, 2025.
