The Center for Comprehensive Promotion of Reproductive Health (CCPRH) has invited applications for Data Collectors to support an integrated humanitarian assessment across selected Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Sokoto and Zamfara states.
The assessment will examine sexual and reproductive health (SRH), gender-based violence (GBV), service readiness, access, risks and response capacity. It will use household interviews, health facility and GBV service assessments, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), market and cash and voucher assistance (CVA) assessments, and environmental risk screening.
Successful applicants will collect information from communities and service providers using approved procedures and electronic data collection tools. Duties include administering questionnaires, supporting FGDs and KIIs where assigned, assessing facilities and services, documenting informed consent, protecting respondents’ privacy and confidentiality, and entering accurate data through KoboToolbox, Open Data Kit (ODK) or other approved platforms.
Data Collectors must attend mandatory training, tool reviews, role plays and field pretesting. They will also participate in daily team debriefings, address data-quality queries, handle devices and field materials securely, and comply with safeguarding, protection, GBV-sensitive interviewing and data-protection procedures.
Who can apply?
Applicants must hold at least a Higher National Diploma (HND), bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in public health, social sciences, health sciences, nursing, midwifery, demography, sociology, psychology, statistics, development studies or another relevant discipline.
Candidates should have previous quantitative or qualitative field data collection experience, know how to use smartphones or tablets for electronic surveys, communicate effectively and work in communities affected by humanitarian crises, displacement or insecurity. Applicants must be available throughout training and fieldwork and able to travel within their chosen state.
Experience with KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO or similar platforms is an advantage. Experience in SRH, maternal health, GBV, protection, humanitarian response, FGDs, KIIs or work with internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees and host communities is also desirable. Knowledge of local languages, state geography, informed consent, confidentiality and ethical research practices may strengthen an application. Female applicants and candidates experienced in engaging women, adolescents and vulnerable populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
Where will successful applicants work?
Applicants must choose one preferred state. Deployments may cover any of the listed LGAs within that state: Gwoza, Mafa and Bama in Borno; Michika, Madagali and Mubi South in Adamawa; Damaturu, Gujba and Geidam in Yobe; Sabon Birni, Isa and Goronyo in Sokoto; or Gummi, Anka and Kaura Namoda in Zamfara. Preference may be given to residents or people familiar with local languages and operating conditions.
Fieldwork is expected to last approximately eight to 15 days after training and preparation. Passing training does not guarantee deployment; final selection depends on performance, tool competence, ethical understanding and field pretesting.
