The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (NAMP) has officially commenced the deployment phase for the distribution of agricultural equipment and tools to qualified Nigerian farmers and participants across the country.

Several applicants have now started receiving official notification emails from the programme informing them that allocations are being processed, while beneficiaries are expected to complete a 25 percent down payment before final allocation and deployment of the equipment.

According to messages sent to participants through the NAMP portal, applicants are required to visit the official portal at namp.BankOfAgriculture.com to finalise their allocation and payment process before the stated deadline.

The message sent to beneficiaries stated that only applicants who complete their application and payment within the approved period will be included in the current processing batch.

The programme is part of the Federal Government-backed agricultural mechanisation initiative designed to improve food production, reduce farming stress, and help Nigerian farmers gain access to modern farming equipment at subsidised rates.

Some eligible applicants, however, have questioned why participants are being asked to pay 25 percent upfront before receiving allocations. Despite the concerns raised in some quarters, information reaching Nigeria Startup News confirms that the payment structure is part of the official deployment and commitment process introduced for the programme.

Sources familiar with the programme explained that the contribution is intended to confirm serious participation, reduce abandoned allocations, and support the logistics involved in equipment deployment nationwide.

Officials connected to the programme have continued to encourage participants to remain patient throughout the allocation phase, stressing that the mechanisation programme is targeted at long-term agricultural improvement across Nigeria.

“The goal is to ensure farmers gain access to modern agricultural tools that will improve productivity, increase farm output, and reduce operational hardship,” a source familiar with the process said.

Farmers and interested Nigerians who still wish to participate in the programme have also been advised to visit the nearest BOA branch for enquiries or contact the programme through the official portal for guidance on registration and participation requirements.

The National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme is being implemented in partnership with the Bank of Agriculture, Heifer Nigeria, and other agricultural support stakeholders as part of broader efforts to strengthen food security, modernise farming operations, and support local farmers with access to mechanised agricultural solutions.
