The Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO) has opened applications for a one-day Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Digital Rights, Safety and Security scheduled to hold in Abuja.

The programme is part of the organisation’s effort to strengthen the capacity, resilience, and digital preparedness of civil society organisations across Nigeria amid growing concerns around cyber threats, online safety, and digital rights protection.

According to the announcement, the workshop is designed for coalitions, associations, nonprofit organisations, and civil society groups interested in improving their understanding of digital safety while also gaining the skills needed to train others within their networks and communities.

About the Workshop

NNNGO said the training will focus on improving digital safety awareness, cyber preparedness, and knowledge of digital rights among participating organisations.

The organisation explained that the workshop will adopt a train-the-trainer model, meaning participants are expected to step down the training and share the knowledge gained with members of their organisations and wider networks after the programme.

The initiative is expected to help strengthen the digital resilience of nonprofits and civil society organisations that increasingly rely on online platforms and digital communication for advocacy, programme delivery, and engagement.

Who Can Apply

Applications are open to:

  • Coalitions and associations
  • Civil society organisations
  • Nonprofits interested in digital safety and security
  • Organisations willing to replicate the training for others

NNNGO noted that the training is specifically targeted at organisations committed to improving digital security practices and promoting safer online engagement within the civil society space.

Venue and Support

The workshop will take place in Abuja.

NNNGO also disclosed that modest travel support will be provided for selected participants attending the training. However, the organisation stated that only shortlisted organisations will be contacted after the application process.
