Delta Begins Disbursement for Children of Deceased Civil Servants, Students with Disabilities

The Delta State Government has commenced the disbursement of the 2025 scholarship awards for children of deceased civil servants and students living with disabilities across the state.

The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board disclosed this in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, stating that the exercise was approved by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as part of the administration’s support for education and social welfare.

According to the board, the disbursement exercise is scheduled to run from Tuesday, May 19, 2026 to Friday, May 29, 2026.

The board explained that the scholarship programme was introduced to assist children of deceased civil servants and students with disabilities in pursuing their academic goals without financial hardship.

It noted that the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to inclusive education and continued support for vulnerable groups within the state’s education sector.

“The scholarship scheme is aimed at supporting children of deceased civil servants and students living with disabilities in their academic pursuits,” the statement said.

Dr. Enita urged all beneficiaries to take advantage of the disbursement period and complete the necessary processes to access their scholarship payments promptly.

The board also provided contact details for enquiries relating to the exercise.

Beneficiaries seeking clarification regarding scholarships for children of deceased civil servants were advised to contact Patricia Olie on 0811 181 2898, while enquiries concerning students living with disabilities should be directed to Chinedu Uwabuofu on 0806 477 5373.
