The Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) cash support is ongoing, with selected Nigerians receiving messages from approved payment providers.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction says beneficiaries are selected using verified national identity records and the National Social Register. There is no online application, registration fee or agent who can secure a place on the list.

Support is free. Selected beneficiaries receive an SMS asking for consent before the money is credited to their mobile wallet. Payments are being made in phases, so not everyone will receive a message at the same time. The programme provides ₦50,000 monthly to eligible beneficiaries.
