NBTE Approves ND Admission for Kwara CAILS as 2025/2026 Admission Opens

The Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin (CAILS), has received official approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to commence admission into various National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

A statement released by the institution on Tuesday reads, “This is to inform the general public that the National Board for Technical Education NBTE has given approval to Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin, to commence admission into the following Programmes:
1. National Diploma ND in Law
2. National Diploma ND in Common and Islamic Law
3. National Diploma ND in Computer Science
4. National Diploma ND in Accountancy
5. National Diploma ND in Library Science
6. National Diploma ND in Mass Communication for the 2025/2026 academic session.”

The institution emphasized that interested candidates who have already obtained the UTME form and meet the necessary requirements are encouraged to make CAILS their first choice on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal.

“Candidates are advised to change their institutions on JAMB website and make Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin, CAILS their first choice of Institution to ensure easy admission to any of the courses,” the statement added.

The college also confirmed that the NBTE has certified all teaching and learning facilities for the newly approved programmes. “Parents, Guardians and candidate are to make use of the opportunity to secure their admission without hindrance as NBTE has certified all the teaching and learning facilities of the College for the programmes accordingly,” it stated.

Apart from the ND programmes, admission is also open into other regular College programmes in affiliation with University Diploma courses. These include:

A. CENTRE FOR DEGREE AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES (CDPP)
Professional Diploma in Education (PDE)
Advance Diploma in Legal Studies (ADLS)
Imamship Programme

B. SCHOOL OF ARTS AND ISLAMIC STUDIES (Two (2) years Programmes)
Diploma in English and History
Diploma in English and Islamic Studies
Diploma in Islamic Studies and Yoruba

C. SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES (Two (2) years Programmes)
Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (Arabic Medium)
Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (English Medium)
Diploma in Arabic English

D. SCHOOL OF EDUCATION (Three (3) years Programmes – equivalent to NCE)
Diploma in Arabic, Islamic Studies and Education
Diploma in Islamic Studies, English and Education
Diploma in Islamic Studies, Yoruba and Education

All these programmes serve as pathways to Higher National Diploma (HND) and direct entry admission into 200-level degree programmes in universities across Nigeria and abroad.

The statement also provided the admission requirements for programmes under categories B to D:

1. WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB with credit/merit in at least four (teaching) subjects, including the relevant ones to the proposed course of study
2. Thanawiyyah/ Tawjihyyah certificate of an Arabic Senior Secondary School recognized by or affiliated to Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin
3. Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies of any tertiary institution recognized by the College
4. Any other qualifications acceptable by the College as equivalent to any of the above
5. Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE) recognized by National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS)

Highlighting the uniqueness of CAILS, the college management noted several reasons why prospective students should consider enrolling in the institution.

The institution further stated that “CAILS National Diploma ND Programmes were fully accredited by National Board For Technical Education NTBE. All programmes leading to admission of successful candidates into Higher National Diploma and 200 level degree programmes of any Polytechnics and Universities in Nigeria and abroad.”
