Online Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2025/2026 Adverts Fake – NAF Warns

0

July 17, 2025 – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has alerted the public to beware of fraudulent recruitment messages currently circulating online. These fake adverts falsely claim that the NAF has started recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).

On social media, currently, there are lots of fake media profiles sharing fake adverts concerning NAF recruitment. Even some ignorant websites are currently posting fake portals falsely claiming that NAF is recruiting.

In an official statement today, July 17, the Nigerian Air Force clarified that “no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.”

The service urged the public to completely disregard any such messages.

The NAF further emphasized that its recruitment and enlistment processes remain free, transparent, and strictly merit-based. “The Nigerian Air Force does not charge any fee at any stage of its recruitment exercise,” the statement added.

The Force also noted that it does not work with any third parties or agents for enlistment into the service.

Whenever an official recruitment exercise is scheduled, it will be “widely publicised through credible national dailies, the NAF official website, and its verified social media platforms.” Citizens are therefore encouraged to seek accurate information from these trusted sources.

In light of increasing online job scams, the NAF advised the public to exercise extreme caution when encountering unofficial adverts related to military recruitment.

For reliable updates, Nigerians are urged to only rely on information released by the NAF via its official website at www.airforce.mil.ng and social media handles.

Reaffirming its values, the Nigerian Air Force assured the public of its “commitment to integrity, transparency, and efficient service delivery to the nation while projecting air power to save lives and properties of all Nigerians.”

The recruitment is likely to take place soon, and will be announced by the Force in due time. For now, Nigerians should be careful not to fall for the antics of scammers.

Zamfara Governor Launches ₦322 Million Cash Transfer for Girls, Flags Off Community Fund

Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has officially launched the disbursement of ₦322 million to support 8,225 adolescent girls under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project. The funds, released through the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme, target vulnerable students across the state.

During the launch event, Governor Lawal stated that this initiative is designed to help girls from low-income families continue their education.

“The girls were selected from the poorest and most vulnerable households,” he explained. According to him, each beneficiary will receive ₦40,000 in the first round to support school enrollment and retention.

“Additional tranches of ₦10,000 each for the second and third school terms will bring the total support to ₦60,000 per person through the parents or the caregivers,” he said.

The ₦322 million covers only the first batch, with arrangements underway for the second group of recipients.

Governor Lawal also flagged off the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.

This initiative will provide financial support to 500 beneficiaries in Gusau, Bungudu, and Kaura Namoda local government areas.

He emphasized that the CRF is a sustainable approach aimed at strengthening community resilience against climate change.

“Our communities face hardships and challenges such as women striving to grow their small businesses, youths yearning for opportunities, and rural households struggling to access basic services,” the governor noted.

“With the Community Revolving Fund, we are introducing a sustainable mechanism that empowers these communities to access funds and take ownership of their development journey,” he added.

The ACReSAL project focuses on land restoration, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection. It aims to empower local communities to combat land degradation and adapt to climate-induced changes using grassroots-driven solutions.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary for Multilateral and Donor Agencies, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau, shared that all 8,225 girls were identified, registered, and verified from all 14 local government areas in the state.

She stated, “The ₦40,000 is a timely intervention to address key financial barriers to education and improve the girls’ long-term prospects.”

She also confirmed that all identification and ATM cards for the beneficiaries are ready for collection. “This will ensure that each beneficiary can access their funds directly and safely,” she said.

According to Hajiya Sa’adatu, the CCT initiative is a vital step in breaking the cycle of poverty. She noted that beneficiaries must maintain at least 70 percent school attendance to remain eligible, emphasizing that the programme promotes discipline and responsibility.

“It is also a shared responsibility, as beneficiaries must maintain at least 70% school attendance to remain eligible—reinforcing the importance of punctuality, discipline, and commitment,” she explained.

She called on beneficiaries to use the support responsibly and for its intended purpose. “This opportunity should be used to invest in education and personal development,” she urged.

Commenting on the ACReSAL project, Hajiya Sa’adatu described it as a critical step in tackling climate-related challenges in Zamfara. “The CRF will empower local communities to engage in dry-season farming, adopt climate-smart technologies, improve water resource management, and strengthen small enterprises,” she said.

She commended the Community Associations and Catchment Management Committees for their dedication and cooperation during the project’s rollout. “I commend the Community Associations and Catchment Management Committees for their dedication and ownership throughout this process,” she concluded.

Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Zamfara State Government and its partners for their support.

The event was attended by senior government officials, traditional rulers, and development stakeholders. The dual launch of AGILE and ACReSAL highlights a significant investment in both education and climate resilience in the state.

FG Launches National Policy for Non-State Schools in Nigeria

The Federal Government has formally launched the National Policy on Non-State Schools in Nigeria (NPNSN), aimed at improving the quality and coordination of private and community-based schools across the country.

Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education, announced the policy today, calling it “a pivotal moment for the education sector.”

Non-state schools (NSNs), which include private, religious, faith-based, home schools, tutorial centres, voluntary, and community schools, have seen massive growth due to Nigeria’s rising population and the limitations of public education infrastructure.

According to Dr. Alausa, “These schools have come to play a critical role in delivering education nationwide. This role is expected to grow exponentially.”

The new policy outlines clear standards for infrastructure, teacher qualifications, and curriculum quality. It also introduces a system for better collaboration between NSNs and the government.

“The policy provides a robust framework for collaboration… ensuring we can work together to achieve our shared educational goals,” the Minister said.

Key goals of the policy include improving quality in NSNs, creating an enabling environment for inclusive access to education, and ensuring that all NSNs meet national safety standards.

The government will also enhance regulation of teachers and school operations while developing a reliable database to track performance.

“To reduce the number of out-of-school children, we will support all NSNs with vouchers for each out-of-school child enrolled,” Dr. Alausa announced. This initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to expand access to quality education across Nigeria.

“This policy allows us to foster growth and improvement of NSNs, collect and manage data more effectively, and ensure schools are safe and secure in line with the National School Safety Policy,” he explained.

The Minister emphasized that education is a shared responsibility. “As I’ve consistently emphasized, the government cannot — and should not — do this work alone. I call on all stakeholders to support the implementation of this policy,” he stated.

Dr. Alausa also expressed gratitude to State Commissioners for Education and the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) for their contributions.

“Under this administration, no child will be left behind. Every Nigerian child deserves access to quality education regardless of background or location.”

The policy marks a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s education system through active private sector engagement, improved regulatory measures, and increased access for vulnerable children.

CDCFIB Temporarily Suspends Recruitment Portal Until July 21

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the temporary suspension of its recruitment application portal.

Recall that there is ongoing CDCFIB recruitment into the four agencies, including Immigration Service, Civil Defence Corps, Correction Service, and Fire Service.

According to an official statement issued on July 16, 2025, the portal at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng will resume operations on Monday, July 21st, 2025.

This move, according to the board, is aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the recruitment system. “This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the statement read.

The CDCFIB expressed appreciation for the growing interest shown by Nigerian youths in joining the nation’s paramilitary services.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” said Maj Gen AM Jibril (rtd), Secretary to the Board.

This update is crucial for job seekers looking for federal government jobs, civil service opportunities, and career growth. Currently, the enormous traffic to the website is too higher than expected, which has led to crashes.

It is expected that the Board will use the remaining days before Monday to upgrade the portal systems to accommodate registrations, and also make the applications smoother.

Oyetola Vows to End Fish Importation, Boost Local Aquaculture

The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola, has pledged strong action to end Nigeria’s reliance on imported fish.

He added that improving access to finance and insurance remains a key priority, with active partnerships involving the World Bank and the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation.

This move is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on job creation, food security, and economic diversification.

Oyetola emphasized that this initial meeting is the beginning of a long-term engagement to reshape the aquaculture sector.

“Our goal is to transform Nigeria’s aquaculture industry into a global powerhouse,” the Minister said, assuring full government support for the sector’s growth.

Lagos Launches NHSRII Leadership Workshop to Boost Health Sector Reforms

0

The Lagos State Ministry of Health has launched a four-day leadership and management workshop for health officials under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII).

The workshop, which began on Monday, July 15, 2025, at Trident Suites in Ikeja, is being held in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp) Coordination Office.

Themed “Towards Rational, Realistic, Pragmatic and Comprehensive Plan that Informs Health Budget for the People of Lagos State,” the workshop targets health leaders, state directors, medical officers, LGA health managers, and project desk officers. The goal is to equip them with planning tools and strategic thinking skills to help drive people-centered health reforms across Lagos.

During the opening session, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Ogunyemi, explained that the training represents a major turning point for the health sector. “This four-day session is about leadership mindset, systems understanding, and service transformation,” she said.

Dr. Ogunyemi urged participants to take the workshop seriously and actively contribute. “This is more than a training,” she noted. “It is a pivotal moment of truth for health managers to take full ownership of ongoing reforms and prepare to effectively cascade them to frontline workers across Lagos.”

She emphasized that Lagos State is already working in line with the SWAp strategy, which focuses on harmonisation, mutual accountability, and coordination between government agencies and development partners.

“The HOPE Project and NHSRII are not abstract programmes,” she said. “They are vehicles to translate vision into action. But they only succeed when leaders and managers connect strategy to service delivery and performance policy.”

Dr. Ogunyemi challenged participants to speak openly about gaps and weaknesses in current approaches. “It’s not enough to sit through this workshop. You must interrogate the policies, contextualise them for Lagos, and make them work for our people. Shake the table. If something won’t work in Lagos, say so. That’s the only way to adapt without losing the essence of what the Federal Government aims to achieve.”

She also brought attention to ongoing issues in maternal and infant health, asking health leaders to reflect on why current strategies may not be producing the desired results.

“We’ve offered free antenatal care, yet our women still go to traditional birth attendants. This is where planning meets reality,” she said. “What can we do differently, and what support do we need?”

She concluded by stressing teamwork and accountability. “It doesn’t matter who gets the credit. What matters is that we do what’s right for Lagos. If it works, we all shine. If it fails, we are all accountable. Let’s embrace this opportunity and lead change from where we stand,” she said.

Also present at the workshop was Dr. Olajumoke Oyenuga, Director of Healthcare Planning, Research and Statistics, who represented the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye. Dr. Oyenuga described the event as a strategic moment for advancing planning, coordination, and delivery across the state.

“This workshop will introduce you to powerful tools like the web-based Annual Operational Planning (AOP) tool, and teach you about system thinking, bottleneck analysis, and service integration—all critical to moving from plans to real impact,” she explained.

Dr. Oyenuga added that the training includes practical sessions on performance-based planning models, service delivery frameworks, and monitoring tools that will help participants develop stronger implementation strategies. “We expect all participants to be fully engaged, as your insights are central to the success of this process,” she said.

From the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Nonso Egbosi, Assistant Director and Head of Strategic Planning, expressed appreciation for the effort Lagos is making to integrate the NHSRII into its health governance. He said, “Lagos is a shining example of state-federal collaboration for sustainable health development.”

Dr. Egbosi urged participants to go beyond theory. “Planning without execution is wasted effort. Let this training serve as the bridge between knowledge and implementation,” he stated.

One of the highlights of the workshop is the use of digital tools for operational planning. Dr. Oyeyemi Ogunjobi, SWAp Desk Officer at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, said that the training is designed to combine structured learning, peer exchange, and group tasks.

These activities will support participants in building practical strategies that directly impact health budgeting and programming in Lagos.

“We are moving away from the traditional spreadsheet-based AOPs to a web-enabled tool. This upgrade will allow for real-time monitoring, reduce duplication of efforts, and enhance decision-making across our 57 LGAs and LCDAs,” she said.

Dr. Ogunjobi also pointed out that the new digital planning system will help in tracking service delivery outcomes and improve overall performance in the health sector. The approach reflects Lagos State’s commitment to strengthening health financing systems and aligning with global best practices in digital transformation for public services.

Mr. Olukunle Daramola, a consultant with the Gates Foundation and one of the development partners present, expressed the Foundation’s continued support for national and state health reforms. He noted that Lagos remains a model for other states to follow in terms of health policy implementation.

“Lagos remains a flagship state, and we commend the government for its commitment to reform. SWAp has come to stay, and we’re glad to be partners in ensuring the realisation of its goals,” Daramola said.

He added that the Gates Foundation is particularly focused on capacity development and staying engaged with states to promote lasting health outcomes.

“We’ve implemented several projects across the country, and with workshops like this, I believe we will be better than we were last year. We look forward to seeing tangible improvements in planning, delivery, and impact,” he said.

The workshop is part of ongoing efforts under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative to build a more resilient, accountable, and evidence-based health system. It is expected to foster collaboration between the federal and state levels, promote high-impact service delivery, and enhance the capacity of health leaders to develop policies that reflect the needs of their communities.

By investing in digital tools and leadership development, Lagos aims to improve its healthcare financing strategy, strengthen human resource capacity, and support the adoption of performance-based health planning.

These are vital to achieving improved service outcomes, reducing maternal and infant mortality, and advancing universal health coverage.

Through workshops like this, the state is building a foundation for better health services that are accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of its growing population. The use of real-time digital planning tools and emphasis on performance monitoring aligns with broader national efforts to modernize public health governance and strengthen primary healthcare systems.

As health managers return to their respective offices, the expectation is that they will apply the knowledge gained, promote health policy reforms, and support the state’s drive towards integrated service delivery, accountability, and sustainability.

The Lagos NHSRII leadership workshop stands as a key milestone in the ongoing journey to deliver quality healthcare for all residents, especially the most vulnerable.

FG Backs Innov8 Hub, Announces 18 Innovation Centres Across Nigeria

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has expressed strong support for the role of technology and innovation in reshaping Nigeria’s education sector.

During his recent visit to the Innov8 Hub’s Innovation Start-up Hub in Abuja, Dr. Alausa highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key strategy for national development.

“I was incredibly pleased to visit Innov8 Hub’s Innovation Start-up Hub in Abuja,” said Dr. Alausa. “Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is critical for Nigeria’s transformation into a knowledge-based economy. That’s why TVET is a core component of the Federal Ministry of Education’s Nigerian Education Sector Renewal Initiative.”

He noted that over 7,000 Nigerians have already benefited from the skills-building environment at Innov8 Hub, developing homegrown solutions for industries within the country.

As part of this national strategy, Dr. Alausa announced that the Ministry will establish 18 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centres in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

“In tandem, we are in the process of setting up a National Research and Development Fund with a supporting agency to support local research and innovations,” he added.

He confirmed that the Ministry will collaborate with hubs like Innov8 Hub to upskill both present and future generations.
