Benue Opens Digital Summit 2026 for Women Entrepreneurs for Skills, Funding

Women entrepreneurs in Benue State are set to benefit from a new digital empowerment initiative as the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC), in collaboration with Afriwon–The Mother Hub and Africa Digital Infrastructure Company Ltd (AFDIC), announces the 2026 Women in Digital Business Summit.

The summit, according to the organisers, is designed to equip 1,000 women entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners with practical digital skills, access to funding opportunities, and strategic connections needed to build and scale sustainable businesses in today’s digital economy.

In a statement, the Group Managing Director/CEO of BDIC, Gbande Hembaar Terwase, AFCPN, said the initiative reflects a broader commitment to driving inclusive economic growth through technology and innovation.

“The summit is designed to empower women to grow their businesses digitally while creating opportunities for learning, networking and access to business support systems,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Convener of the Women in Digital Business Summit 2026, Nguemo Emmanuel, noted that the programme will provide a transformative platform for participants to engage with industry experts and gain insights into navigating the evolving digital landscape.

The event is scheduled to hold on Friday, 1 May 2026, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium, Rev. Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, by 9:00 a.m.

Organisers disclosed that the summit is supported by the Benue State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, the Centre for Gender Studies in Benue, Novus Microfinance Bank, Benue Fashion Hub, Ololo Int’l, Mindset Series, and other strategic partners.

Participation is free, but registration is mandatory for all attendees.
