JAMB 2025 UTME Resit Exam Result Released

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 UTME resit examination. This resit was organised for candidates who were affected by issues at certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres during the earlier sessions.

A total of 336,845 candidates were scheduled for the resit, after removing sessions at compromised centres and including previously unverified candidates. Out of this number, 21,082 candidates did not show up for the exam.

JAMB stated that although this resit situation was unfortunate, it exposed some serious examination malpractice involving students, school owners, and CBT centres. Investigations are still ongoing.

JAMB also shared that exam performance remains similar to previous years, with statistics showing results ranging between 11% in 2013 and 34% in 2016. According to the board, there were no high scorers in the cancelled sessions. “Only a handful scored up to 217, and 99% scored below 200,” JAMB said.

Some people have raised concerns that candidates who scored well in the cancelled sessions should keep their results. JAMB has dismissed these claims as false and misleading.

Many Nigerians believe JAMB makes money from the SMS result-checking system. However, JAMB clarified that it does not profit from the shortcode service. Instead, it subsidises it to protect candidates from online fraud and cybercafé exploitation. “JAMB has no reason to make money from such a service,” the board said.

How to Check 2025 JAMB UTME Resit Results

JAMB confirmed that the 2025 UTME resit and underage UTME results are now available. Candidates who sat for the resit exam can check their results by sending UTMERESULT (in capital letters) to either 55019 or 66019. The number to use depends on which one the candidate used to generate their profile code during registration.

JAMB also revealed that over 3,000 candidates have been linked to serious exam fraud. Those found guilty will have their results withdrawn once evidence is confirmed.

In its final remarks, JAMB thanked the Nigerian government and the public for their support, promising to continue providing honest and dedicated service to the nation.
